Teresa Jusino

Teresa Jusino is native New Yorker who currently lives and writes in Los Angeles.

In 2018, Jusino launched Pomonok Entertainment, a production banner that incorporates a company mission of working toward alleviating homelessness in Los Angeles into the larger mission of telling engaging, thought-provoking, inclusive stories across multiple mediums.

Pomonok recently had its first theatrical production with Homeward L.A, a 10-day event in April 2018 during which a team of producers and directors put up over 20 productions of 12 monologues written by those who’ve experienced homelessness, all to benefit The Midnight Mission. Jusino made her theatrical directing debut on Pomonok’s production of the show in Hollywood.

Jusino also writes prose and dramatic fiction. She is the co-creator, co-EP, and writer of a digital series in development called Incredible Girl, and has several original TV pilot scripts and a short film script in her arsenal.

She is an editor at The Mary Sue, a feminist pop culture site that celebrates inclusion, particularly when it comes to female representation in film and television, both in front of, and behind the camera.

After attending NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where she majored in Drama and English Literature, she has made a name for herself as a pop culture critic for nearly a decade, bringing her uniquely intersectional perspective to outlets like Jezebel, Latina Magazine, Slate, Tor.com, PopMatters, and Newsarama.

Lastly, she offers a “Create Like an Activist” workshop/talk which teaches creators of filmed content how to make their stories more inclusive in a way that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. She is available to present the workshop at events, or in corporate settings.
